The Russellville High School tennis team opened its season on home courts this week, hosting three tough 6A West conference matchups.
On Tuesday, the Cyclones faced Siloam Springs High School. Despite several competitive matches, Russellville came up short with a 3–5 loss. Later that evening, the team showed resilience against Harrison High School, battling to a 4–4 tie.
Standout performances came from Aubrey Farr and Olivia Odom, who went undefeated across both matches on Tuesday, earning recognition as the team’s Players of the Game.
The week concluded on Thursday with another home contest, this time against Van Buren High School. The Cyclones fought hard but ultimately fell 2–6 against a talented Pointers squad. Taylor Roach and Annabeth Miller earned Thursday’s Players of the Game honors for their strong play and determination.
Head Coach Isabelle Luna praised her athletes for their resilience during the demanding week.
"We faced three tough programs in just a few days, and our players showed a lot of fight in every match,” Luna said. “These experiences are going to make us stronger as the season continues."
Cyclone tennis teams will travel to Van Buren on Tuesday to face Shiloh Christian and Farmington.
